The situation

Heritage Chiropractic Center has been open for 44 years. It had a website until its host broke the WordPress install. What was left was a database export and a folder of files.

The practice itself was in better shape than its web presence. Dr. Joseph Wilson runs chiropractic care, physical therapy, massage therapy and acupuncture under one roof in Las Cruces. That's rare in this market. The old site buried it on a single services page.

What the market looked like

Before designing anything, I went through seven local competitors. Two things stood out:

  • None of them had a dedicated page for auto accident and injury patients. Heritage's old copy already leaned that way, and the four-service model is the reason it fits: injury cases tend to need more than adjustments.
  • None of them had any ongoing content. No blog, no video. Wide open for the next phase.

The strongest competitor had a clean services and conditions split, an FAQ and online booking. That was the bar to clear.

What we built

Recovered, not restored. The old site was never brought back to life. The copy and images were pulled out of the export and rewritten into a clean build, with none of the WordPress baggage.

Brand and domain doing separate jobs. The domain is lascruceschiropractic.com, which does the keyword work. The brand on the page is Heritage, which is who patients actually remember.

Four services, one practice. The homepage leads with it: chiropractic, physical therapy, massage and acupuncture, each card linking to its own section.

An Auto & Injury section in the main navigation, aimed at the highest-intent patients in the category, who no competitor was talking to.

Booking on every screen. Click to call and "Request an Appointment" throughout, plus a sticky call-and-book bar on mobile, where most of these patients will be searching.

Real reviews, real numbers. The Google rating on the site is the real one, linked to Google. Nothing invented. The old site said 40 years and a directory listing said 28. The practice has confirmed 44.

Built to expand. This is phase one: a fast, credible site that already clears the local bar. The architecture is ready for the next step, which is individual pages per service and condition, a blog, and local authority content.

At handover

The old site ran on WordPress and Elementor on shared Bluehost hosting, and it was slow. The rebuild runs on Cloudflare. Its Google PageSpeed scores the day I handed it over:

Performance Accessibility Best Practices SEO
92 100 100 100

Google PageSpeed mobile scores at handover. The practice has since moved to another provider, so the live site may have changed since.
